LAI Baltimore Chapter is hosting its Annual Dinner with keynote speaker Christopher B. Leinberger.

It is our Chapter’s 25th Year! There will be a special induction ceremony for our newest Chapter members as well as the presentation of our Chapter Member of the Year Award to an exceptional member and another special Award.  Election of our 2018-2019 Board of Directors slate including our incoming Baltimore Chapter President Melvin Freeman.

Christopher B. Leinberger is a nationally-recognized land use strategist, teacher, developer, researcher and author, balancing business realities with social and environmental concerns. Mr. Leinberger is currently:

His most recent book is The Option of Urbanism, Investing in a New American Dream. He is also the author of Strategic Planning for Real Estate Companies and has contributed chapters to 12 other books. He is an Op-Ed Contributor to The New York Times, writes regularly for The Atlantic Monthly and numerous other magazines. CNN, National Public Radio, Atlantic Cities Channel, Washington Post, among others, have profiled him.

He was the 2010 William H. Whyte Urbanism Award winner by Partners for Livable Communities. Mr. Leinberger was named as one of the top 100 “Most Influential Urbanists” of all time by a 2017 Planetizen poll.

 Parking:

Street Parking available.  Nearby public lots include The Walters Museum lot at Centre and Cathedral Streets.

Directions:

From Charles Street Northbound
Proceed north on Charles Street until you reach The Washington Monument. Centre Street is at the foot of the monument and you should take the left hand lane just past the monument to the first street, which is Mt. Vernon Place. Turn left onto Mt. Vernon Place and proceed to the stop light. Turn left onto Cathedral Street and take an immediate left onto the south side of West Mount Vernon Place. Number 11 is the brownstone building in the center of the block.

From I-95 North and South
Exit I-95 at I-395 North to the Downtown Exit. Follow I-395 onto Martin Luther King Blvd. Follow the boulevard up the hill and take a right on Druid Hill. Druid Hill turns into Centre Street. Turn left onto Charles Street and follow the instructions.

From I-295 North
Follow 295 into downtown which will become Russell Street. After passing Oriole Park at Camden Yards on your right, turn right onto Pratt Street. Proceed to Charles Street and follow the directions above.

From I-83
Follow I-83 South into Baltimore and take the Maryland Avenue exit. Turn left at the stop light and follow Maryland Avenue south. Maryland Avenue turns into Cathedral Street. Look for the park on the left after you pass Madison Street. Turn left onto West Mount Vernon Place just past the stop light on Monument Street. Number 11 is the brownstone building in the center of the block.
